About the role
- Responsible for preparing and manipulating products according to standardized recipes and tallies to meet service requirements.
- Preparation may include numeric calculation, decasing, tempering, decanting, portioning, depositing, weighing, fortification, and texture modification.
- Ensures safe food handling and sanitation practices and procedures are maintained during all stages of product preparation and storage.
- Cleans and sanitizes equipment and service areas.
- Participates in Quality Assurance Programs.
Requirements
- Minimum Grade 12 education, Manitoba Standards, required.
- Valid Food Handler's certificate required.
- Previous experience in food service.
- Satisfactory employment record required.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English effectively.
- Knowledge of food products and food preparation techniques.
- Position involves bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling up to 25 lbs. and standing for long periods of time.
- Working in a cold environment (2-10 degrees) with some exposure to -18 degrees.
- Exposure to chemical cleaning supplies.
- Ability to adapt to changing tasks.
- Ability to work as a team member and independently in a time sensitive environment.
