About the role

  • Responsible for preparing and manipulating products according to standardized recipes and tallies to meet service requirements.
  • Preparation may include numeric calculation, decasing, tempering, decanting, portioning, depositing, weighing, fortification, and texture modification.
  • Ensures safe food handling and sanitation practices and procedures are maintained during all stages of product preparation and storage.
  • Cleans and sanitizes equipment and service areas.
  • Participates in Quality Assurance Programs.

Requirements

  • Minimum Grade 12 education, Manitoba Standards, required.
  • Valid Food Handler's certificate required.
  • Previous experience in food service.
  • Satisfactory employment record required.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English effectively.
  • Knowledge of food products and food preparation techniques.
  • Position involves bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling up to 25 lbs. and standing for long periods of time.
  • Working in a cold environment (2-10 degrees) with some exposure to -18 degrees.
  • Exposure to chemical cleaning supplies.
  • Ability to adapt to changing tasks.
  • Ability to work as a team member and independently in a time sensitive environment.
