About the role
- Perform quality control checks and clean up large datasets to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Prepare and manipulate structured and unstructured datasets (e.g., Oracle, SQL, Excel, text, images) for use in regulatory monitoring and reporting efforts.
- Develop coding and queries to support data testing and dashboard development using tools like Qlik, Tableau, and Power BI.
- Use version control software (e.g., Git) to collaborate on data science projects.
- Apply critical thinking and quantitative skills to conduct analyses on food and ingredient-related public and private datasets.
- Research regulatory topics and prepare documentation (i.e. FOIA) summary reports, memoranda, abstracts, and publications.
- Communicate technical concepts and findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Expand regulatory knowledge relevant to submissions, regulatory product safety, ingredient monitoring, and public health.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required
- A bachelor's degree is required
- A Minimum TWO (2) years of experience as a data analyst or in a similar role
- Experience in working with unstructured data sources (e.g., text, images, audio) and structured data (i.e., Oracle, SQL, Microsoft Excel).
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, R).
- Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex data insights and recommendations effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven track record of delivering impactful data-driven projects or products.
- Experience with health, clinical, or regulatory data is nice to have
- Familiarity with statistical concepts and methods, such as regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and time series analysis.
- Programming experience in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or other relevant frameworks.
- Knowledge of clinical or life science regulatory frameworks.
