About the role
- Ensure compliance with requirements of the SEC, BSP, and other relevant regulators.
- Review, draft, and manage agreements to protect the bank’s interests and enable business growth.
- Provide legal guidance to support board and management governance processes.
- Offer practical legal consultation on legislation, regulations, and business initiatives.
- Handle judiciary, labor, administrative, and other cases, including coordination with external counsel.
- Manage and safeguard IP rights, including trademarks and related matters.
- Draft and prepare legal documents such as demand letters, notices, and memoranda.
- Advise on labor and employee-related issues in partnership with HR.
- Support compliance with data protection laws and regulations.
- Represent the bank in dealings with regulators and manage relationships with external counsel.
Requirements
- Law degree and Philippine Bar admission required.
- 7-10 years experience in corporate law and/or commercial law & labor law practice, preferably with banking experience
- Strong English communication skills — verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to learn and expand expertise in areas critical to the role’s success.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Digital dexterity — comfort working with digital tools and processes.
- Ethical judgment and integrity in all decision-making.
