About the role
- Ensure full implementation of Gold Fields leadership routines: Visible Felt Leadership (VFL)
- Conduct regular safety inspections, critical control verifications and audits at all project sites
- Ensure all infrastructure project contractors comply with health and safety conditions
- Compile statistics, hazard identification, and risk assessment reports and audits
- Train safety representatives of sub-contractors on best health and safety practices
- Assist in developing processes and procedures in line with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health & Safety Management or Engineering related from a recognized institution
- Minimum of five (5) years’ relevant work experience in a major mining and construction projects environment
- Must possess Senior Health, Safety and Environment Officer Certificate of Competency from the Inspectorate Division of Minerals Commission, Ghana
- Thorough knowledge in ISO 45001:2018, ISO 14001:2015 and HSE data management system (e.g. INX InControl, Isometric etc.)
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects and programs
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- A valid Ghanaian driver’s license and knowledge in 4x4 driving
