About the role
- Manage projects from initial concept through to production, ensuring timely completion and adherence to project goals
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure technical and creative alignment
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring effective allocation of financial resources
- Monitor expenditures and adjust as necessary
- Ensure all design and development activities comply with relevant technical and regulatory standards
- Maintain documentation for regulatory submissions and quality management systems
- Lead the design and development of medical and surgical components, equipment, and instruments
- Understands and makes well-reasoned design decisions and tradeoffs in their area; able to work in all areas of their core anatomical experience
- Create and modify detailed CAD models and technical drawings
- Conduct tests to evaluate product performance, safety, and functionality
- Build and maintain strong relationships with surgeons, clients, and suppliers
- Actively seek and incorporate feedback from stakeholders into the design and development process
- Understands and has experience in the testing and validation of cleaning, packaging and sterilization systems and processes
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and development processes.
Requirements
- BS/BA degree from an accredited institution in engineering or a related field.
- Advanced Degree preferred
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in medical product development or a related field with demonstrated industry knowledge
- Ability to work with and coordinate with other departments/personnel in a collaborative and solutions-oriented manner
- Significant, demonstrable market intelligence, product knowledge and expertise
- Excellent communication, presentation and demonstration skills
- PC/Windows/Office/Google proficiency and company system of record
- High level of empathy to help guide decision making
- Demonstrates knowledge of industry trends in area of expertise, assessment of unmet clinical needs, and awareness of new technologies that could affect area of expertise
