About the role

  • Provide day to day incident and deployment support of multiple server operating systems, including Unix, Linux and Windows
  • Provide day to day incident and deployment support of middle tier applications, including web and application servers
  • Develop growth plans as needed to ensure that the hosting environment can support the projected growth of the application environment
  • Create and maintain project plans as necessary in accordance with US Postal Service standards
  • Provide weekly status reports and maintains hours worked on projects
  • Perform isolation testing of problem equipment and/or software, analyzes and resolves complex hardware and software problems issues
  • Develop and implement procedures that support proactive problem detection and avoidance, including disaster recovery planning and implementation
  • Manage incident response via the USPS ServiceNow application in accordance with the published USPS Change Management Service Level Agreements (SLAs)

Requirements

  • 10 + years of related experience
  • US Citizenship Required: No
  • A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is preferred.
  • 13+ years of technical experience, with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Middleware Administration in a distributed computing environment is preferred.
  • Must have technical proficiency in 2 of the 3 skill areas: Middle Tier administration, Unix/Linux Server Administration, Windows Server Administration
  • Experience with technologies including Apache Tomcat, WildFly, Oracle Fusion Middle Tier (OFM), IBM WebSphere, Apache HTTP, Kubernetes, Docker, IBM MQ, Kafka, Zookeeper, RedHat OpenShift, RedHat 3scale Ansible, Google Cloud Platform, Microsoft Azure, Linux shell scripting, Microsoft PowerShell, JYTHON, AppDynamics, Zabbix, SolarWinds, Neustar and Splunk.
  • Service Now ticket management experience.
