About the role

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end freight invoice auditing, approval, and payment process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance
  • Monitor and resolve exceptions and discrepancies in freight payments, proactively addressing issues to prevent payment delays
  • Develop and implement standardized procedures for freight payment across all business units and geographies
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with service providers to ensure service levels are met
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with providers, addressing quality issues and driving continuous improvement in payment practices
  • Implement and maintain freight payment systems, ensuring they are up-to-date and aligned with industry standards
  • Identify and execute process improvement initiatives, leveraging automation and digital tools to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
  • Analyze freight payment data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost reduction and process optimization
  • Prepare regular reports on freight payment KPIs, financial performance, and compliance metrics to senior leadership
  • Work closely with Finance, ERP, Procurement, and Logistics teams to align freight payment processes with company objectives
  • Facilitate effective communication and issue resolution between internal teams and external partners
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, industry standards and company policies related to freight payment
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with freight payment processes, maintaining robust controls and documentation
  • Lead multiple cross functional meetings to help ensure prompt payments to provider base
  • Support calls for business rollout initiatives, providing subject matter expertise and project leadership

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in freight payment, logistics, or related roles
  • Advanced analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated expertise in freight payment systems, invoice management, and process optimization
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven track record of managing multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • In-depth knowledge of transportation industry regulations, compliance standards, and best practices
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools
