Engineer

• Focus on the development of friction stir welding manufacturing processes for aerospace applications
• Lead execution of a new or advanced manufacturing technology development initiative across GE Aerospace
• Own development of the advanced manufacturing process/technology
• Prove the solution to be valid or technically feasible
• Manage funding and program manage the multi-year development
• Provide technical direction for a specific technology with significant business impact
• Participate in cross-functional team meetings to define requirements for the new technology
• Formulate technical solutions that align with long term business objectives
• Present or review in technical and program reviews, communicating with the customer or program manager
• Remain current in the state of the art within own technical specialty
• Partner with Design Boards, Manufacturing pyramids and TRL owners to industrialize design and technologies
