About the role

  • In this role, you are responsible for our entire product quality management covering products, materials, and product safety – from the initial idea to delivery to our customers
  • Build & develop a quality management (QM) system
  • Implement and advance an internal QM system with clearly defined processes and standards
  • Define and document quality requirements for materials, tolerances, load capacities, surfaces, edge radii, fasteners, etc.
  • Translate these requirements into specifications, test plans, and approval processes
  • Responsible for certificate management (e.g., TÜV, OEKO-TEX, possibly GS mark): administration, monitoring expiry dates, timely renewals
  • Create and maintain CE declarations of conformity for our products in collaboration with external testing labs and suppliers
  • Ensure compliance with EU regulations and standards (e.g., relevant EN standards, REACH, product safety requirements; ideally experience working within ISO 9001)
  • Create and maintain product passports as well as our product management sheet and product specifications as the single source of truth
  • Create, update, and maintain safety instructions, warning notices, and care instructions – both on product detail pages (PDPs) and in packaging/inserts
  • Manage a sample warehouse (production-ready samples, golden samples) and reconcile ongoing production with approved samples
  • Identify and monitor critical manufacturing steps at our suppliers
  • Implement and support standardized test plans, sample testing, and feedback loops to reduce deviations early in the process
  • Establish and run a process for regular incoming goods inspections & packaging validations in the warehouse (3PL) and at suppliers
  • Plan, document, and track internal audits as well as customer and supplier audits, including consistent follow-up on corrective actions until completion
  • Define and manage quality objectives and KPIs (e.g., defect rates, return rates, complaint reasons)
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reports to identify trends (return reporting, return reasons, support tickets, UGC photos/videos, reviews)
  • Derive, initiate, and track effective corrective and improvement actions in close collaboration with Product, Operations, Customer Support, and suppliers
  • Support Customer Support in creating and maintaining CS macros & FAQs for quality-related topics
  • Translate technical and regulatory requirements into clear, customer-facing and internal communications

Requirements

  • At least 3–5 years of experience in quality management for physical consumer goods – ideally in furniture, toys, textiles, or comparable products
  • Degree (e.g., Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Wood Technology, Textile Technology, Product Development) or equivalent training with relevant professional experience
  • Excellent knowledge of EU product safety requirements, relevant EN standards, and REACH; experience with CE marking and ideally ISO 9001
  • Proven experience in building or developing QM systems, testing processes, or audit structures
  • Experience working with external testing labs (e.g., TÜV, Intertek, SGS) and international suppliers is a plus
  • Analytical, structured, and detail-oriented working style, combined with pragmatism and strong execution skills
  • Strong affinity for D2C/e-commerce environments with fast decision-making and lots of scope for shaping processes
  • Very good German language skills and good English language skills, both written and spoken.
