Lead the ICE Propulsion and Thermal Systems Engineering (IPTSE) Campaign Prevention Process
Perform & Report Out on Physical Vehicle Fresh Eyes Events in NA: inspect durability vehicles and pre-production vehicles for fit, functional and compliance concerns
Document concerns and work with D&R Teams for Resolution and Closure
Expect to travel ~1 trip (3-4 days) per month (could vary by launch schedule)
Workstation readiness reviews: confirm product & process requirements are understood at the workstation level and that the manufacturing process can consistently meet requirements
Lead Campaign Prevent Deep Dive 1 and 2 events and perform signoff when complete
Perform & Report Out Virtual Deep Dive (Fresh Eyes reviews and Design Documentation); schedule team meetings and review evidence of APQP and PPAP readiness
Perform signoffs to requirement compliance
Mentor teams in problem-solving activities to prevent recurrence of failures and customer issues
Travel to vehicle assembly plants (Mexico, US, Canada) and suppliers for Fresh Eyes and Supplier Reviews (travel periods typically 4-5 days during launch)
Occasionally work outside normal local working day to interface with other regions in different time zones
Requirements
BS in mechanical or electrical engineering or similar degree
10+ years of overall automotive engineering experience
Strong understanding of Ford APQP and PPAP process (including FMEA, Control Plan, SCCAF…)
Strong understanding of the design for assembly and design for manufacturing
PVT and/or Plant Launch experience desirable with good understanding of the vehicle assembly and manufacturing processes
Proficient computer skills - Microsoft Office 365: XL, Word, PowerPoint, Project
Self-starter with excellent teamwork, leadership, communication skills and a quality mindset
Good organization skills and the ability to plan and perform multiple tasks
Must be available for travel in domestic US, Canada and Mexico (several trips monthly)
