About the role

  • As a Scrum Master within First National Information Technology group, you will be accountable for building high performing Agile teams and ensuring the completion of Team deliverables.
  • Facilitate agile activities and meetings - including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint demos, and retrospectives.
  • Guide the team on Agile principles and values to enable and promote self-organization.
  • Ensure tools and processes are documented and available for team use.
  • Work with Product Owners to understand the product road-map, priorities, and schedules to guide delivery.
  • Lead team to make realistic and achievable delivery commitments using standard agile metrics and reporting techniques.
  • Manage execution for your team.
  • Solicit and use input to evolve the delivery system to improve velocity and quality.
  • Build and support a strong team dynamic where people thrive and inspire each other.
  • Build trusted relationships with key stakeholders to manage expectations.
  • Proactively identify, track, and resolve impediments that could impact team velocity.

Requirements

  • 2 years of experience as a Scrum Master
  • 5+ years of relevant IT or Product experience including strong understanding of customer/stakeholder relationships, business analysis, estimation and prioritization of work
  • Strong knowledge of Scrum methodology and Agile principles
  • Strong leadership and team building capabilities including coaching, guiding and supporting team members
  • Proficient in conflict resolution
  • Problem-solving mindset with ability to identify and remove impediment
  • Strong, effective communication skills, ability to bring multiple roles and personalities together to work towards a shared goal
  • Knowledge of other Agile methodologies (Kanban, SAFe, etc.)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Experience promoting agile engineering practices
