General Counsel

• Provide analysis and counsel on global labor and employment issues, including recruitment, hiring, discipline, reorganizations, terminations, training, policies, handbooks, compensation, and benefits.
• Advise on employment disputes and regulatory complaints (EEOC, NLRB, MCAD, etc.), Works Councils and CBAs, and manage outside counsel for some litigation matters.
• Draft, negotiate, and review employment-related documents, including senior executive agreements, benefits plans (ERISA, COBRA, 409A), change-in-control agreements, offer letters, and separation agreements.
• Develop and update employment agreements, separation agreements, policies, and handbooks to ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international regulations (ADA, FMLA, FLSA, GDPR, etc.).
• Prepare and deliver training for HR and business partners on employment law and best practices.
• Lead legal compliance initiatives, including policies, processes, and training for the global workforce.
• Support M&A due diligence and integration, providing employment-related risk assessments and guidance.
• Monitor and analyze changes in employment laws globally; proactively advise management and recommend actionable guidance.
• Collaborate with HR and leadership to align legal strategies with business objectives and foster a strong compliance culture.
• Serve as a legal representative on committees and special projects as requested.
• Provide backup support for general corporate legal issues as needed.
