About the role

Lead two core services teams (Sound Production and Artist Experience - SPARX, and Sound Platform - SPLAT) focused on music
Oversee personnel, delivery, processes, technical strategy, and cross-team technical collaboration
Define the technical roadmap and target architecture for the teams
Foster psychological safety and conduct 1:1s to guide growth and career progression
Lead and support development processes such as standups, mob programming, and design sessions
Collaborate closely with Product Manager and stakeholders to ensure sustainable, high-quality, fast-paced delivery
Own the engineering plan regarding security, legacy, capacity, and quality
Manage cross-team technical deliveries and communication
Work on systems that ingest and manage music from artists, classify and tag music, build administrative tools, and develop platform functionality
Enhance the metadata model to prepare the music catalog for future applications

Strong technical background with expertise in modern software development practices
Backend development (Go/Kotlin/Python)
Experience with microservices, APIs and cloud technology
Solid understanding of system design and architecture
Proven experience managing and growing multiple engineering teams
Ability to build a psychologically safe work environment for your teams
Experience coaching and growing engineers across all levels of seniority
Comfortable collaborating closely with Product Managers and stakeholders
Nice-to-have: Experience in the music industry and/or sound production
Nice-to-have: Familiarity with GCP and BigQuery
Nice-to-have: Experience working in a modern, product-driven company
