About the role
- Develop and deploy advanced data structures, indexing tactics, and partitioning frameworks within Azure Cosmos DB
- Develop high-performance queries using SQL API, MongoDB API, or other supported APIs
- Lead the integration of Cosmos DB with web portals, mobile apps, and cloud services
- Build and maintain secure, scalable RESTful APIs and serverless functions using Azure Functions and Logic Apps
- Design and implement real-time data pipelines and event-driven architectures using Azure Event Grid, Service Bus, and Data Factory
- Supervise and optimize database performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency
- Collaborate with software engineers, cloud architects, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to code reviews, technical guidelines, and architectural decisions
- Ensure compliance with enterprise data governance, security, and privacy standards
- Maintain detailed documentation for architecture, data flows, and integration patterns
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and DevOps workflows including automated testing and deployment
- Evaluate Azure and Cosmos DB updates, recommend adoption strategies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- 5 to 8 years of experience in NoSQL database development
- At least 3 years focused on Azure Cosmos DB
- Proven experience integrating Cosmos DB with modern digital applications and cloud-native services
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, consistency models, and multi-region deployments
- Proficiency in Azure services including Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Event Grid, and Data Factory
- Expertise in RESTful API development, microservices architecture, and secure data access
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Preferred: Azure certifications related to data engineering or architecture
- Preferred: Experience with real-time analytics and event-driven systems
- Preferred: Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Preferred: Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC)
