About the role
- Support and manage relationships with our external book vendor teams to coordinate production of titles.
- Write synopsis copy and liaise with designers on cover designs.
- Ensure the timely announcement of titles to market using BooksoniX data management, as well as keeping records up to date throughout the whole process
- Act as a liaison between the book commissioning and marketing teams, reporting on portfolio performance and resolving any problems that need escalation from the team.
- Liaise with our Research Integrity and Legal departments when required.
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal skills, both to build and maintain good working relationships with our offshore vendors and to able to confidently handle conflict resolution and disputes.
- The ability to work to deadlines, advanced organisation, administration, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- A continuous improvement mindset.
- An understanding of the changing landscape of academic publishing and the production environment.
- A keen interest to actively participate or lead projects that support Emerald’s mission.
- Experience working with offshore suppliers would be beneficial.
