About the role
- Contribute to both front-end and back-end projects with guidance from mentors
- Work on a scoped feature or project you can proudly showcase at the end of the internship
- Collaborate with engineers and product teams to understand how ideas turn into shipped features
- Gain exposure to the full software development lifecycle: coding, testing, debugging, deployment, and iteration
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and team stand-ups to learn best practices
- Explore modern tools and frameworks (e.g., React, Node.js, APIs, databases, Git)
Requirements
- Imperial College student, pursuing an Industrial Placement through the Department of Computing
- Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java, C++)
- Basic understanding of web development concepts (front-end, back-end, or APIs)
- Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn
- Clear communication and teamwork abilities
- Ability to commit to the entire internship duration (e.g., 3–6 months, full-time)
- Bonus: Experience with React, Node.js, or other modern frameworks
- Bonus: Exposure to databases and version control (Git)
- Bonus: Personal or academic projects you’re excited to share
- Bonus: Understanding of testing, deployment, or cloud services
