About the role
- Provide strategic legal advice and actionable recommendations that align with business objectives and mitigate risk
- Lead and manage Commercial litigation, including coordination with outside counsel, internal stakeholders, and budgets to achieve favorable outcomes
- Works as a strategic partner and decision maker with more senior leaders and manages work independently
- Contributes to overall results of an SBU or CEE unit and/or department
- Uses professional legal concepts and principles to contribute to development of company’s concepts and principles
- Provides instructions to junior members of the department and concise, timely briefings to senior level business and legal management
- Assess and mitigates risk
Requirements
- Requires a JD
- current license to practice law
- a minimum of 9 years of specific industry and/or technical legal experience post licensure
- Experience managing outside counsel is preferred
- Proven experience advising on and managing high-stakes, complex legal issues with broad organizational impact
- Experience in Commercial lines of business preferred
