About the role
- Develop detailed designs, plans, and specifications for infrastructure projects
- Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and environmental impact analyses
- Use computer-aided design (CAD) software and other design tools to produce technical drawings and models
- Oversee construction activities, ensuring that projects are executed according to approved designs and specifications
- Monitor progress, quality, and safety at construction sites, resolving any issues that arise
- Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely project completion
- Analyze survey reports, maps, blueprints, and other data to plan project details
- Evaluate structural integrity and safety of proposed or existing structures
- Perform cost estimates, manage budgets, and track project expenses
- Ensure that all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations
- Order necessary permits and approvals from regulatory bodies
- Ensure that projects adhere to environmental, health, and safety standards
- Liaise with clients, contractors, government officials, and the public regarding project details and updates
- Prepare reports, proposals, and presentations for stakeholders
- Provide technical advice and expertise to resolve construction or design issues
- Conduct regular inspections of completed projects and existing infrastructure to ensure proper maintenance
- Identify and recommend repairs or upgrades to infrastructure as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulatory standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other design software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and project management skills.
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to civil engineering projects.
- A valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
