About the role
- Oversee the full dental billing cycle: claim submission, follow-ups, appeals, payment posting, and account reconciliation
- Lead, train, and mentor a billing team of 8+ staff to maintain productivity, accuracy, and high performance
- Monitor and manage insurance aging reports, denials, and outstanding claims to maximize collections
- Maintain compliance with payer guidelines, dental insurance rules, and state/federal regulations
- Collaborate with front office, clinical teams, and operations leadership to streamline billing workflows and improve revenue
- Develop and track KPIs, reporting metrics, and performance dashboards for billing operations
- Implement and refine best practices for billing processes, documentation, and quality assurance
- Coordinate communication with insurance companies, patients, and internal teams to resolve escalated billing issues
- Ensure timely and accurate posting of EOBs, ERAs, and patient payments
- Support onboarding and training related to billing systems, tools, and process improvements
Requirements
- 3+ years of dental billing experience, preferably within a DSO or multi-location dental group
- Management or supervisory experience leading teams of 8 or more
- In-depth knowledge of dental insurance processes, claim workflows, and industry terminology
- Strong proficiency in claim submission, follow-ups, appeals, and payment posting
- Hands-on experience with Denticon practice management software
- Familiarity with DentalXChange is a plus
- Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain high accuracy
