About the role
- Define and deliver broad data management and governance strategies aligned with current and long-term organizational goals
- Oversee development, documentation and governance of complex data frameworks & standards to ensure consistency and quality across data domains
- Lead the successful implementation, deployment, and ongoing usage of Atlan as the enterprise data governance platform
- Define and execute strategies for tool adoption, integration with existing data platforms, and continuous improvement
- Develop and execute change management plans to drive adoption of data governance tools, including stakeholder engagement, training, and support
- Champion a culture of data stewardship and accountability
- Define a data quality vision and strategy and operationalize organizational alignment to lead data quality efforts
- Lead creation of data governance policies and lifecycle guardrails, ensuring adherence to regulations and policies
- Lead development of data governance, risk and compliance processes and controls to identify improvements and mitigate risk
- Oversee training programs to improve organizational literacy and compliance to data standards and policies
- Manage team members to achieve organization goals through coaching, feedback, performance measurement, and inclusive culture
Requirements
- Minimum requirement of 10 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 12 years or more of relevant experience.
- Experience leading global cross functional governance programs (Preferred Qualifications)
- Experience with data governance tooling platforms such as Atlan, Alation or Colibra
- Established operating models and programs to mature data quality and compliance
- Built and led high performing organizations
- Sponsored transformational programs that spanned organizational and/or functional boundaries
- Experienced at articulating the importance of data governance to senior leaders to articulate business value & risk
- Familiar with implementation or use of data governance and management technologies
- Experience managing teams, including coaching, performance management, and talent development
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance, data governance, risk and controls
