Sales

• Be responsible for opening and closing of the Museum Shops, accurate cash handling, reconciling daily transactions, resolving accounting discrepancies and making deposits.
• Oversee all aspects of customer service on the sales floor, including greeting visitors, efficient and timely transaction processing, interactive demoing, and vast product and museum knowledge.
• Maintain an overall awareness of the entire work environment.
• Understand, work, and lead team to achieve sales goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and budgets.
• Understand and work to achieve an increased approval rating on the Visitor Satisfaction Survey.
• Train and supervise sales staff in daily operations in the Museum Shops to prepare for the day to include merchandising, restocking and recovery, customer service standards and appropriate attire.
• Manage sales staff breaks.
• Operate point-of-sales system efficiently ensuring fast transaction speed, knowledge of inventory, and accurate inventory of merchandise.
• Be able to work independently in exhibition and pop-up shops, as needed. This includes set up, event sales, and reconciliation, alone or with another team member.
• Continually increase knowledge of the DIA collection and related Museum Shop merchandise.
• Contribute actively to a warm and friendly atmosphere by greeting visitors and provide general information and directions throughout the visit.
• Observe Museum Shop security procedures strictly and provide emergency response to the staff and public, as needed, under the guidance of the DIA Protection Services Policies.
• Apply DIA values to interactions to support a culture of belonging among internal and external stakeholders.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
