About the role

  • Manage, execute, and assure quality in commercial operations, including risk management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional groups to develop and deliver commercial best practices.
  • Own and manage key supplier relationships, ensuring performance aligns with core values.
  • Foster strong relationships across the business, integrating strategies into commercial planning.
  • Effectively manage a portfolio of matters, supporting scoping, effective fee arrangements (EFA’s), and forecasting.
  • Lead the development and implementation of commercial strategies, including upskilling the legal function with scoping, tendering, and reporting.
  • Develop and assure accuracy of MI insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Support timely reporting of matter costs, budget forecasts, and savings.
  • Assist in establishing the function as a strategic partner within the organisation.
  • Collaborate with the COO team to help develop various solutions, including legal process improvement and technology optimisation.
  • Create and maintain commercial processes, tools, and strategies, ensuring accurate knowledge sharing.
  • Ensure adherence to commercial processes, governance, and reporting.

Requirements

  • Must have extensive experience in large operations/procurement; legal operations experience.
  • Financial Services experience is required.
  • Strong stakeholder management and business development skills.
  • Significant project management experience with best practices knowledge.
  • Ability to analyse data and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Experience with e-Billing software or similar.
  • Strong judgement and communication skills.
  • Experience in a matrix organization.
  • Attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel for data analysis and report creation.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
