About the role
- Manage the lifecycle of network equipment, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning.
- Manage the lifecycle of operational ISP services, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and decommissioning.
- Ensure proper documentation and tracking of all equipment and services throughout their lifecycle.
- Develop equipment refresh plans to ensure the modernization of network infrastructure.
- Assess the performance and reliability of existing equipment to identify refresh needs.
- Evaluate new technologies and equipment options to determine the best solutions for the organization.
- Work with vendors to procure equipment and services.
- Negotiate contracts and manage vendor relationships.
- Work closely with other IT teams, including network engineering, operations, and security, to ensure seamless integration of equipment and services.
- Provide technical guidance and support to other team members.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of equipment and service lifecycles.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3 + years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on lifecycle management.
- Proven experience managing equipment and service lifecycles.
- Experience with vendor management.
- Strong understanding of networking protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, MPLS, VPN).
- Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
- Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks.
