About the role
- Functions as a Team Lead and/or has specialized knowledge to create and maintain specifications (drawings and models) of Cummins products per company, industry, national, and international standards.
- Ensures model and drawing quality.
- Creates and maintains product specifications utilizing Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing.
- Utilizes Computer Aided Design (CAD) data management tools for configuration control and to maintain security.
- Ensures application of company, industry, national, and international standards.
- Processes internal engineering work requests.
- Engages with required functional areas as needed.
- Participates in the maintenance of standards and practices which ensure quality.
- Mentor and train less experienced Product Designers.
- Checks models and drawings prior to release.
- Create assemblies to ensure fit to mating parts.
- Works with engineering to generate concept models.
- Participates in and/or leads Drawing Quality Reviews.
Requirements
- High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field is required.
- Regionally applicable certification or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study may be required.
- Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.
