About the role

  • Lead and develop a team of software engineers, guiding them through successful and timely completion of technical product development projects.
  • Play a critical role in attracting, retaining, and fostering the professional growth of our software engineers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with peers across different organizations.
  • Contribute to building globally distributed, fault-tolerant, and highly scalable cloud-based systems capable of processing trillions of events daily.

Requirements

  • Engineering Leadership: A proven track record of building and managing strong core engineering teams, with 5+ years of hands-on management experience leading engineering teams.
  • Software Development Lifecycle: 10+ years of comprehensive software engineering experience across all phases of the software development lifecycle.
  • Technical Depth: Broad understanding of distributed systems development, including concepts and API development.
  • Cloud Expertise: Solid grounding in the technology of at least one major cloud environment (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Quality Focus: Solid design and problem-solving skills, with a clear passion for engineering excellence, quality, security, and performance.
  • Team Management & Communication: Clear communication, proactive planning, and effective risk management to achieve team goals.
  • Mentorship: Experience developing and mentoring engineers.
  • Education: MS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical work experience.
  • Bonus Points: Knowledge of query optimization techniques.
  • Experience with complex GraphQL APIs.
  • Knowledge of ETL processes to move and transform data between different data stores.
  • Understanding of data security principles and best practices.
  • Ability to monitor and optimize query performance across diverse data stores.
