About the role

  • Pitching, drafting, and implementing content for list-focused communications
  • Draft compelling email, SMS, and landing page content that educates supporters about issues and priorities
  • Stage content in our email (ActionKit) and SMS (Mobile Commons) CRMs
  • Facilitate the quality assurance process
  • Serve as the Email and SMS lead in rapid response moments
  • Draft and set up campaign pages to drive calls and emails to Congress
  • Compile and monitor key email and SMS metrics to assist the communications team in improving digital campaigns
  • Support the long-term development of the department by providing broad recommendations on trainings, knowledge sharing, skills development, teambuilding

Requirements

  • 4+ years of online content creation and strategy experience for a nonprofit or campaign with a particular focus on email and SMS
  • Experience building messages in email CRM platforms like ActionKit, NGP and SMS platforms like Mobile Commons
  • Understanding of email results and best practices and comfort with statistical evaluation of results
  • Good attention to detail and solid proofreading skills
  • Commitment to learning and personal growth, and to putting principles of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion into action in the workplace
  • Comfort with quickly changing priorities: our work is responsive to the news environment and plans often shift on short notice.
