About the role
- Oversee operations, maintenance and strategic planning of Computershare’s global data centres
- Manage multiple data centres ensuring uptime, performance, security, compliance, health monitoring and capacity planning
- Lead a geographically dispersed team of data centre engineers and provide people management, hiring, performance management and resource capacity management
- Provide data centre services to CTS support teams and clients and enhance customer experience by investigating and resolving system faults
- Align data centre technology strategy to business objectives and provide proposals and guidance for business projects
- Monitor and ensure ServiceNow queues and ADO tasks are handled promptly according to priorities
- Lead incident response and fulfil service requests
- Build proactive professional relationships with internal teams, market stakeholders, vendors and regional directors globally
- Translate complex business and technical problems to stakeholders and support IT assurance, compliance processes and risk management
- Support team career development through regular 1:1s and coaching
Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience managing data centre environments
- Deep knowledge of data centre technologies (power, cooling, networking, computing)
- Experience in a leadership role managing geographically dispersed teams
- Demonstrable experience embedding organization and cultural changes within complex operational environments
- Proven ability to influence at peer level and above to drive change and process alignment globally
- Experience managing teams that collaborate across multiple sites
- Experience with Managed Services agreements and working with service providers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of service governance processes and the ability to understand risk to services
- Ability to coach and mentor direct reports and instill strategic objectives
- Business planning experience and ability to forecast costs for budget cycles
- Strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure: data centre services, servers, networks, storage, and cloud services
- Proven experience in a technical leadership role managing complex enterprise-level infrastructure solutions
- Bonus: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science, information technology, or related field
