About the role
- Lead the design and integration of complex systems for automotive applications, ensuring seamless integration of hardware and software components.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze system requirements, define specifications, and develop engineering solutions that meet customer and regulatory needs.
- Work closely with global multidisciplinary teams (hardware, software, quality, and manufacturing) to ensure system solutions are aligned with project goals and schedules.
- Oversee system-level testing and validation to ensure the system meets functional, safety, and reliability requirements.
- Conduct root cause analysis for any system issues.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers and guide the technical direction of projects, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance, reduce complexity, and optimize cost efficiency in automotive systems.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in systems engineering, with a focus on automotive systems, embedded systems, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of systems engineering principles, automotive architecture, embedded systems, and relevant automotive standards (ISO 26262, AUTOSAR, etc.).
- Proficiency in systems engineering tools (e.g., Doors, Codebeamer, MATLAB/Simulink, PSpice, or other modeling/simulation tools) and software development environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems and resolve integration and performance issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (Master’s or higher preferred).
- Familiarity with automotive hardware and software architecture, vehicle control systems, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and electric vehicle systems is a plus.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written in English and Japanese, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, team members, and management.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and experience guiding and mentoring a team of engineers.
