About the role
- Performing routine basic and more advanced study activities, technical procedures and providing assistance to study coordinators, researchers, clinicians, assist when needed in the care of study animals, the sanitation, and maintenance of facility equipment.
- Doing facility laundry and clean, organize, maintain, and disinfect animal rooms, cages, facilities (showers and bathrooms).
- Observing animals regularly, recognizing and reporting changes in eating or drinking habits, general behaviors, and outward signs of disease or abnormal in appearance.
- Recording and/or maintaining animal health data or other data necessary for the operation of the facility or study conduct.
- Providing basic animal husbandry for study animals, such as feeding and watering animals according to schedules and feeding instructions.
- Providing routine assistance in study activities, common and more advanced technical procedures, and record-keeping responsibilities, following prescribed procedures and instructions, such as: o Handling and restraining animals, o Observing and reporting change in behaviors, o Collecting specimens, o Recording and maintaining animal health data.
- Providing basic animal care, including animals housed under barrier conditions, according to prescribed, such as feeding/watering, and transferring animals, equipment, and supplies.
- Providing standard animal care for study animals according to prescribed procedures and instructions, such as: o Administering medications and treatments, o Mixing, dispensing, and storing feeds and special diets, o Providing pre- and post-operative care for laboratory animals.
Requirements
- No prior experience required; however, candidate with relevant experience and education are also encouraged to apply.
