Security Engineer

• The Health & Safety (H&S) team implements a comprehensive health and safety program and oversees the implementation of a safety management system for the Public Works (PW) department.
• To succeed in this role, you must have both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills to strike the right balance between project management, research, field investigations, risk assessment and legislative compliance while strengthening occupational health and safety (OH&S) systems and promoting physical safety and psychological well‑being.
• In this position, you are a safety partner. You work with management and staff at all levels to coach, advise and guide on safety practices, apply critical thinking to complex challenges, and develop programs, procedures and resources that promote workplace safety and well‑being.
• Your primary responsibilities include field visits, leading or contributing to special projects, conducting risk assessments, performing compliance monitoring, investigating incidents and recommending continuous improvement strategies.
