About the role
- Complete all aspects of sales and use tax, property tax and local licensing for clients including status updates to managers, timely filings, and payment submissions
- Demonstrate understanding of the client’s business including basis of sales, fixed assets to be reported, and potential audit risks
- Identify and implement process improvements of the compliance function for sales and use tax as well as property tax
- Complete assigned tasks within the time requested, explain variances when needed
- Achieve charge hour goals
- Assist associates with sales and use tax or property tax work; provide constructive review points
- May supervise Associate’s on engagements
- Train and mentor associate staff
- May be involved in the client billing process by assisting Managers or Directors
- Identify and begin to develop knowledge in audits or taxability research and advisement as they relate to sales and use tax or property tax
- Leverage industry knowledge and business acumen blending cross serve opportunities into client engagements
- Execute administrative duties as assigned
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation or related field preferred
- 2 years of experience in public accounting or related field
- CPA candidates preferred
- Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
- Proficient use of applicable technology
- Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
