About the role
- Monitor and improve shop floor safety, aggressively eliminating unsafe processes
- Assures fixtures, tooling and processes are followed to meet production schedules
- Determines priorities and sequences of jobs
- Schedules and prioritizes constrained resources, and adjusts staff to meet flow and customer requirements
- Determine and execute disciplinary action when appropriate
- Ensure production material is procured and distributed to meet production schedules
- Increases production efficiency through continuous improvement and waste elimination
- Determine overtime needs and priorities when resources are insufficient
- Ensures preventive maintenance is performed according to schedule
- Identifies and leads the deployment of workforce training
- Actively deploys section value stream improvements using Lean Manufacturing and 6 Sigma
- Develop and deploy standard work for each work area
- Practices and coaches Caterpillar Production System (CPS) guiding principles
Requirements
- A progressive history of strong leadership and growing work teams
- Thorough knowledge of logistics processes, equipment and tools
- Demonstrates critical thinking, analytical skills, initiative
- Ability to collaborate at various levels of the organization across multiple functions
- Demonstrates knowledge of order to delivery, engineering and/or manufacturing principles
