About the role
- Lead the editorial workflow for print + digital literacy content, ensuring consistency across all linked components
- Create and revise instructional units (primarily grades 6–12 ELA)
- Review manuscripts for content accuracy, clarity, reading level, and freedom from bias
- Manage proofs, art specs, and editorial quality across all production stages
- Partner with Instructional Design, Product, and Production teams to deliver on vision, timeline, and standards
- Mentor and manage two editorial team members
- Support market and competitive analyses to inform product decisions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in English, Education, or related field a plus
- 5+ years of editorial experience in educational publishing
- Strong ELA/literacy content knowledge (grades 6–12 preferred)
- Expertise with editorial style, markup, and The Chicago Manual of Style
- Experience editing both print and digital instructional materials
- Comfortable using Smartsheet, Adobe Suite, and digital content management tools
- Strong project management skills and ability to lead multiple concurrent workflows
