About the role

  • Lead the editorial workflow for print + digital literacy content, ensuring consistency across all linked components
  • Create and revise instructional units (primarily grades 6–12 ELA)
  • Review manuscripts for content accuracy, clarity, reading level, and freedom from bias
  • Manage proofs, art specs, and editorial quality across all production stages
  • Partner with Instructional Design, Product, and Production teams to deliver on vision, timeline, and standards
  • Mentor and manage two editorial team members
  • Support market and competitive analyses to inform product decisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in English, Education, or related field a plus
  • 5+ years of editorial experience in educational publishing
  • Strong ELA/literacy content knowledge (grades 6–12 preferred)
  • Expertise with editorial style, markup, and The Chicago Manual of Style
  • Experience editing both print and digital instructional materials
  • Comfortable using Smartsheet, Adobe Suite, and digital content management tools
  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead multiple concurrent workflows
