About the role
- Contribute to the drafting of the Australian Naval Classification Rules, processes and procedures for Australian Naval Classification.
- Support the assessment of Australian Naval Classification Basis.
- Demonstrate strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Coordinate with the ANC Rules Lead to ensure alignment with regulatory standards and project objectives, including leadership, risk management, compliance, accountability, and transparency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop engineering solutions.
- Review engineering documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Participate in meetings with stakeholders and provide engineering insights as needed.
- Support the implementation of engineering policies and procedures to enhance project efficiency.
- Contribute to the development of technical reports and documentation as required.
- Assist in troubleshooting technical issues and recommending corrective actions to resolve them.
- Keep abreast of industry trends, developments, and emerging technologies to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor qualification in marine engineering, naval architecture or related discipline, and relevant industry experience.
- 8+ years of experience working in the maritime engineering or a regulatory field.
- Must hold on commencement an Australian Government Security clearance.
- Familiarity with work health and safety and environmental compliance.
- Knowledge of Australian and International maritime conventions and laws, and/or the Defence regulatory environment/s.
- Considerable analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive work environment that promotes knowledge sharing and teamwork.
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
