About the role
- The Continuous Improvement and Capex Program Manager supports the organization’s operational excellence strategy by driving Lean transformation initiatives and managing capital projects that enhance capacity, quality, and cost performance
- Ensure that improvement activities and capital investments are aligned with site and enterprise priorities
- Partner with the Director of Continuous Improvement to deploy the company’s Lean operating model, management systems, and lean processes across all areas of the McGregor facility
- Facilitate kaizen events, value stream mapping, and problem-solving workshops to drive measurable improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost
- Coach site leaders and functional teams in Lean tools and mindset to build ownership and accountability at every level
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of capital projects, including concept development, justification, budgeting, execution, and commissioning
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Finance to prioritize investments based on return on investment (ROI), safety improvement, and throughput enhancement
- Ensure that all Capex initiatives incorporate Lean design principles to maximize efficiency and eliminate waste
- Maintain a consolidated Capex tracker, status reports, and communication cadence for leadership visibility
- Coordinate vendor selection, bid for project work, project risk assessments, and post-installation evaluations to ensure performance validation and standardization
- Act as a central liaison between site leadership, operations, engineering, and finance to align improvement efforts with business objectives
- Support the Director of Continuous Improvement in aligning the annual operating plan, strategic initiatives, and capital planning cycles
- Standardize best practices and share learnings across sites to drive consistency in execution and results
- Ensure data-driven decision making through accurate tracking of savings, project progress, and performance metrics
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Operations Management
- Or Equivalent experience in manufacturing or operations, continuous improvement, Lean, or project management roles
- Proven success applying Lean principles to improve process performance and operational results
- Strong knowledge of Lean tools (VSM, 5/6S, Problem Solving, Standard Work, Visual Management, Kaizen, etc.)
- Proficiency in project management
- Solid financial understanding for capital justification and ROI analysis
- Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to work across multiple sites or functions while balancing strategic and tactical priorities
