About the role
- Work closely with developers to understand existing server-side logic, data flows, and system behavior—including reviewing code outputs, logs, or technical specifications where needed.
- Partner with business SMEs to reinterpret what the system *should* do, not just what it currently does—shaping improved future-state requirements instead of replicating legacy functionality
- Write and manage Jira user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with technical teams to gather and understand system architecture, API's and technical constraints.
- Engage with business stakeholders to interpret technical details into business capabilities and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
- Conduct requirements elicitation and analysis, ensuring completeness and clarity.
- Act as a liaison between business and technology, facilitating communication and understanding.
- Proactively identify gaps, risks, and dependencies in requirements.
- Support backlog grooming and sprint planning with product and engineering teams.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role in an Agile software environment.
- Ability to collaborate deeply with engineers, analyze system behavior, and understand high-level code logic (e.g., reading pseudo-code, reviewing API payloads, interpreting data transformations).
- Comfort participating in technical discussions about how systems work today, and helping define how they *should* work tomorrow.
- Experience with influencing system design discussions and advocating for improved, modernized workflows
- Strong ability to write detailed user stories and acceptance criteria in Jira.
- Excellent communication skills to translate technical jargon into business language.
- Ability to dig deep into requirements, ask the right questions, and uncover hidden needs.
- Self-starter with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Familiarity with API documentation, data flows, and system integrations is a plus.
