About the role
- Create relationships with clients in the Northern California area and act as a liaison between the local design team, client and remote design teams
- Manage and coordinate marketing, planning, design and construction phase services for automation, instrumentation, control and SCADA projects for water and wastewater utilities
- Lead execution and take overall responsibility for I&C design projects as well as coordinate I&C engineering efforts for large multi-discipline projects
- Provide local interface by attending client and contractor meetings, performing field investigations, attending factory acceptance testing and helping to resolve I&C client and construction issues
- Monitor and control project schedule and budgets and assist with proposals and presentations in response to sales opportunities
- Support multiple Water and Wastewater and Hydro engineering projects with advanced engineering solutions and technical challenges
- Align skills to projects that support Governments & Communities market sector and collaborate within BV Operations
- Provide services including consulting, master planning, assessments, conceptual design, detailed design, EPC, design-build, construction support, field services, testing, commissioning, resident engineering, staff augmentation, training, on-call services, and system implementation, configuration, and programing
Requirements
- 4 years of experience in instrumentation, control, and automation design consulting
- 4 years of experience in water/wastewater industry
- 2 years of experience in project management and business development
- Experienced with control system component selection and application for distributed control or SCADA systems such as Allen-Bradley PLC, Modicon Schneider Electric, Emerson Ovation, ABB 800xA, or similar
- Experienced with network diagrams, instrument device schedules, Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID), instrument schedules, input/output lists, instrument installation details, instrument loop diagrams, control narratives and technical specifications
- Experienced with coordinating multi-discipline workflow process to meet budget and schedule goals
- Demonstrate strong problem-solving, leadership and team management abilities
- Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing or equivalent experience in engineering work
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience
- Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries, and supports where necessary
