About the role
- Responsible for administrating day-to-day IT systems to include system availability, backup/restore, configuration changes, maintaining and patching both physical and virtual.
- Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
- Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
- Installs and monitors security auditing software and remediates defects based on customer security policies.
- Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions.
- Conducts routine hardware and software audits of servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
- Develops and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.
- Responds to system alerts and engages in troubleshooting and problem resolution.
- Collaborates with vendors on product capabilities and improvements needed to meet customer requirements.
- Develops and applies advanced methods, theories and research techniques in investigation and solution of complex and difficult system design requirements and problems.
- Plans, develops, and executes projects or major phases of significant projects, coordinating the efforts of engineers and technical support staff in the performance of assigned projects.
- Reviews completion and implementation of systems additions and/or enhancements and recommends corrections in technical application and analysis to management.
Requirements
- Five (5) years of experience as an SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity are required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
- Five (5) years of SA experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.
- Must be CWIP compliant with a Sec+.
