About the role
- Ensure accuracy, safekeeping and timely movement of inventory throughout multiple Device Care Centers
- Develop & implement material management strategies to ensure efficient inventory control and distribution of materials
- Develop lean processes and procedures to meet internal and external customer requirements
- Lead Inventory Control resources and communicate responsibilities and goals
- Maintain collaborative relationships with Functional Leaders to support departmental needs
- Provide technical and operational support during business development and new customer acquisition
- Establish, track, and analyze departmental reports and measurements, and present findings
- Develop short- and long-term goals and plans; develop and administer operating budget
- Administer procedures and provide direction to ensure delivery of efficient and effective services
- Organize area(s) of responsibility including workflow, performance standards, staffing levels, supervision, and communication systems
- Serve as liaison with other department leaders and investigate complaints; take corrective action when necessary
- Direct preparation of records, recurring and special reports, review and interpret results, and initiate corrective action
- Responsible for overall material accuracy for VAS channels by performing cycle counts and physical inventory counts
- Hire, develop, evaluate, discipline, and discharge subordinates; develop orientation and training programs; establish performance standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in any business or related discipline
- 10+ years materials / inventory control experience in a fast paced, high volume (approximately 8,000+ SKU’s) manufacturing/repair environment
- At least 5 years of data interpretation / analysis and logistics experience
- 7+ years of leadership experience with at least 5+ years of experience managing supervisory personnel
- Purchasing and Procurement Experience
- Strong process and procedure experience in manufacturing, automation, electronics, systems integration, life cycle modeling, new product introduction, process development and deployment
- Leveraging Lean / 6 Sigma tools
- Project and resource planning, and systems implementation
- APICS CPIM designation
- Working knowledge and understanding of MRP / ERP systems, WIP & Planning
- Experience with Oracle ERP in a reverse logistics remanufacturing implementation
- Ability to direct and manage multiple teams
- Ability to interact effectively and positively with all levels of Company personnel as well as external personnel
- Human Resource policies and procedures knowledge
