About the role
- Timely and accurate completion of actuarial projects for small cash balance plans.
- Analyze and edit employee census data
- Prepare actuarial valuations on cash balance plans
- Prepare PBGC annual premium forms
- Prepare trust reconciliations
- Prepare Form 5500
- Process benefit calculations
- Complete projects timely, accurately and cost effectively
- Update workflow system daily
- Perform technical research to answer questions as necessary
- Complete all applicable checklists and notes
- Actively participate in ongoing retirement industry related education including pension law
- Participate in process improvement and innovation
- Provide back up support to other departments as assigned
- Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.
- Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned
Requirements
- Entry level position; prior experience is not required.
- Actuarial internship is a plus.
- Pursuing Actuarial exams is a plus.
- Strong conceptual, analytical and math skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical ideas
- Intermediate computer skills, including Excel
- Detail-oriented and accurate
- Self-starter taking responsibility for completing tasks in a timely fashion
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize
- Team player
- Commitment to ongoing pension education
- Basic accounting skills
- Ability to work in fast paced office environment
- Dependable with excellent follow through on commitments and responsibilities.
