About the role
- Design and develop integrated solutions (hydraulics, power transmission and electronic controls) for OEM customers using Applied’s products and expertise
- Collaborate with and mentor members of the technical services team in the design and development of custom power and motion control solutions
- Help strengthen Applied’s presence in the vehicle electrification market
- Work closely with OEM application specialists and regional management to identify strategic customers and grow sales related to systems integration and vehicle electrification
- Stay current with emerging trends, technologies and products in the field
- Act as a subject-matter expert in integration of hydraulic systems (hydrostatic systems, valves, controls, etc.) and electronic systems (HMI, ECU, etc.)
- Provide technical support across multiple product lines
- Maintain cooperative and productive team relationships with all stakeholders
Requirements
- Bilingual in French and English required
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering
- 7+ years of relevant experience in the mobile or industrial hydraulic systems industry (design, troubleshooting, repair, maintenance)
- Strong understanding of hydraulic systems and electronic controls
- Relevant experience in PLC programming (Plus+1, IQAN, CoDeSys, etc.) and CANbus communications
- IFPS Certification – Certified Fluid Power Specialist (CFPS) required
- IFPS Certification – Certified Fluid Power Engineer (CFPE) is a significant asset
- Ability to translate customer needs into concrete, operational system solutions
- Experience selecting components for mobile hydraulic and electronic control systems
- Experience in vehicle electrification is an asset
- Experience in the design and/or operation of heavy equipment (construction, agricultural, mining, etc.) is a major asset
