About the role
- Support Partners on complex, high value litigation in the Sheriff Court and Court of Session
- Work independently on a diverse range of commercial litigation disputes
- Work under the supervision and guidance of Partners to deliver high-quality legal services.
- Ensure strict compliance with all court deadlines, procedural rules, and case management requirements.
- Regularly appear and represent clients in Sheriff Courts across Scotland.
- Effectively engage with and support national clients in relation to dispute resolution matters.
- Prepare and manage case files, pleadings, and documentation in accordance with professional standards.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop strategies for efficient resolution of disputes.
- Mentor trainee and junior level support
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 year PQE working within a litigious team
- Experience and competence appearing in the Sheriff court
- Confidence to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Experience and competence in a range of IT applications i.e. Microsoft Office, Aderant, iManage
