About the role

  • Utilizing your healthcare and/or customer service skills to assist with the blood collection process
  • Collaborating with your team to transport and setup equipment at the collection sites in local communities
  • Creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for volunteer donors
  • Following safety procedures while collecting lifesaving blood donations
  • Building personal connections with donors and helping them understand the impact of their donations
  • Driving Red Cross vehicles and working with the team to setup and tear down equipment at donation sites
  • Working a variable schedule, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Customer service experience and effective verbal communication skills are required
  • A current, valid driver's license with a good driving record is required
  • DOT certification is required
  • Physical requirements may include the ability to lift, push or pull heavy weights up and down ramps and stairs
  • Good manual dexterity, the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and adapt to long, irregular hours and frequent schedule changes are required
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft office applications
