About the role
- Responsible for product development, design, sustaining current products, and working on RFDs
- Develop concepts and prototypes for new products
- Create test plans for luminaire certification (UL/CSA)
- Integrate cutting-edge controls technology into luminaires
- Manage project timelines and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Oversee Phase-In and Phase-Out (PIPO) processes
- Travel to production facilities to support Pilot and Pre-Production Assembly Runs
- Support Lean activities and seek process improvements
- Review functional specifications, project charters, and competitor samples
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- 5 years of experience in engineering within the lighting or a related field
- Strong knowledge of engineering fundamentals
- Proficient in 3D/2D CAD software, MS Office, and other relevant tools
- Understanding of Lean & Six Sigma methodologies
- Some familiarity with manufacturing methods such as stamping, drawing, casting, and extrusion of metals and plastics
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Works effectively in cross-functional team environments
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
