About the role
- Partner with the sales team and clients as the primary technical advisor to deeply understand application requirements, manufacturing processes, and success criteria
- Conduct site evaluations to assess the physical environment, available integration points, and potential challenges
- Develop clear, accurate Statements of Work (SOWs) and technical proposals
- Perform comprehensive feasibility studies and proof-of-concept (POC) testing
- Design the complete vision solution architecture
- Lead the on-site installation, calibration, and commissioning of the machine vision systems at client facilities
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, Optics) or a related technical field
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience designing and deploying machine vision solutions in an industrial environment
- Expert-level proficiency with at least one major machine vision software platform (e.g., Cognex VisionPro/In-Sight, Matrox MIL, Keyence XG/CV-X, Halcon)
- Deep theoretical and practical understanding of optics, lighting techniques, and image acquisition principles for challenging surfaces and defects
- Proven experience in a client-facing, consultative role (pre-sales or field engineering)
- Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time, primarily domestically
- Must have a suitable home office environment capable of housing a lab setup for evaluations
