About the role
- The People & Community Project Manager is responsible for leading large-scale and complex projects, ensuring that scope, timeline, budget, and outcomes are met.
- This role may lead or consult on small or medium-sized projects supporting our People and Community Business Office.
- Defines the project’s statement of work, scope, charter, objectives, requirements, and success criteria.
- Develops and maintains detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, and Informed), budgets, and resource allocation.
- Defines and establishes a RACI with rules of engagement for the project team – communicates the RACI and sets expectations, roles and responsibilities of the project teams and SMEs.
- Identifies and engages key business stakeholders, cross-functional partners, SMEs, and other team members.
- Collaborates effectively across all groups.
- Creates visuals (e.g., Gantt charts, process flows, etc.) for the purpose of advising the project plan.
- Uses advanced project management tools to track performance and ensure timely completion of activities.
- Monitors project progress and performance against established goals and objectives.
- Facilitates project meetings with agendas and ensures effective collaboration among team members.
- Communicates project status, updates, and issues to executives, partners and team members.
- Identifies and mitigates project risks and issues to ensure smooth project execution.
- Resolves priority, work approach, or interpersonal conflicts to ensure project continuity and alignment with strategic goals.
- Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Provides guidance and support to project teams to resolve challenges and obstacles.
- Provides mentorship and guidance to other project managers and team members.
- Implements best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project performance.
- Aligns with strategic PMO on best practices and engages in community of practice.
- Partners with change practitioners to identify gaps and incorporate change plans into master project plan.
- Partners with leadership to continuously improve intake, dashboarding and other division-wide project processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related areas, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience with project management principles and methodologies obtained by assisting, coordinating or leading complex projects.
- In-depth understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools (Smartsheet, Asana, Monday, Project, etc.).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to draft digestible executive and C-Suite communications and dashboards.
- Ability to manage medium-to-large-sized projects with complexity.
- Ability to read and apply technical requirements to project plans and identify process gaps, waste and improvement needs.
